Che cosa significa la parola AndroMake!?

The word Andromake comes from the greek language, the meaning of the word is:

The one who fights.

As mitology tells us, Andromaca was the daughter of Eezion, the king of Thebes.  When she was very young, she married the Trojan hero Hector, son of Priam, who will die in the Trojan war, killed by Achilles. For Achilles cause, he lost his father and seven brothers.

After the defeat of Troja, Andromaca became the pray of Neothalamus's war, whom was son of Achilles and king of Epir.

Andromaca, pushed to leave her home and go living in a foreign land, in a hostile and unfriendly environment, managed to react and avoid a cruel destiny which obligates her to chnage her lifestyle and in that way earn Neothalamus's trust who marries her and gives her 3 children.

When Neothalamus dies, she will become the queen og Epir and will continue to guide it for many, many years bringing prosperity and well-being in the city of Pergam.

The myth, as well as the history have re-composed in this great historical figure of a warrior for the survival, and it continued to live in Homer's poetry; Euripidus, Vergiliy and Racine.

But maybe is Baudelaire the poet who mostly in this myth found the will to change in history and destiny, by remembering her in Le Cygne.

Her strength will hit Schliemann as well - the archeologist who revived Troja who will  with her name, name her own daughter.
